RARE Disney SNOW WHITE 1937 Original Production LAYOUT Drawing Bill Tytla # 1
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Grumpy Layout Drawing by animator legend. Disgruntled by Snow White's request to clean up before supper, Grumpy walks out of the cottage, as seen in this layout drawing crafted masterfully by Bill Tytla (1904 - 1968), one of the most renowned animators in Disney history. Rendered in graphite with colored pencil, this detailed layout drawing was done to plan for the scene at the 42:28 mark of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and features the exterior design of the back of the cottage where Grumpy will be exiting through the door until he sits on the barrel. This incredible drawing demonstrates why Bill Tytla was one of the first animators assigned to work on the iconic Disney animated film!
The layout drawing was created in colored pencil on 12-field 5-peghole animation sheets, showing normal age-related toning. This work is from the Famed Disney Animator Bill Tytla Archive. To enhance the presentation of this rare Disney animation treasure. A custom hand-inked acid free overlay of GRUMPY recreates how the drawing was used in the 1937 film.
