Pinocchio 1940, Blue Fairy On Disney Pan Production Bg Vintage New Pristine Mint
BLUE FAIRY HAND-PAINTED PINOCCHIO PRODUCTION BACKGROUND SETUP FROM THE 1940 DISNEY FEATURE. HAND PAINTED AND INKED 16fld CEL OF THE BLUE FAIRY PLACED ON A BEAUTIFUL, HAND-PAINTED 23 x 9+ PAN PRODUCTION BACKGROUND OF GEPPETTO'S BEDROOM, USED IN SEVERAL SCENES OF THE FILM. Portions of this BG can be seen when the Blue Fairy first enters (16:41 minutes into the film), when Geppetto wakes and walks with candle and gun to check out the noise (23:06), and again when Geppetto goes to sleep with the newly-alive Pinocchio. Backgrounds for PINOCCHIO were painted by Claude Coates, Merle Cox, Ed Starr and Ray Huffine--and This one looks very much like one by Claude Coates. THE CEL IS WITH ITS ORIGINAL PAINT (pictured in full on a different Pinocchio setup in the next-to-last photo) AND THE BACKGROUND WAS SLIGHTLY TRIMMED AND MOUNTED TO ILLUSTRATION BOARD (WHICH IS A BIT BIGGER THAN THE 23 x 9 MAT OPENING).
