Paul Bunyan is a 1958 American animated musical short film produced by Walt Disney Productions. The short was based on the North American folk hero and lumberjack Paul Bunyan and was inspired after meeting with Les Kangas of Paul Bunyan Productions, who gave Disney the idea for the film. The film was directed by Les Clark, a member of Disney's Nine Old Men of core animators.

Paul Bunyan received an Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Short of 1958. This is a WONDERFUL cel of young Paul as he peers into his school! The cel and the overlay background are from two different moments in the short - just a few seconds apart, but they pair well together. We've shown screen captures from when each appears. NOTE: we're not absolutely sure that the overlay background is production (we have not opened the mat to check), but it appears to be - as screen matching it does seem to be exact.

The overlay background and the cel seem to be sealed to each other with adhesive. The mat is old, weathered (and has a knife-like surface slices down the right side that does not affect the art) and measures approximately 20" x 16" with an aperture of 14 1/2" x 10 1/2". Once you pay for them we cannot combine them.
