It has been in a warehouse since then! Matted and ready to frame, with Studio Seals and a Charles Scott Gallery Certificate of Authenticity. Animated cartoons and features used to be created by hand - each and every frame. And most of this artwork was simple meant to be used and thrown away - so much of it is quite rare - and all of it is unique!
Some were used in earlier stages of production and some can be seen on-screen! The Little Mermaid was part of the Disney Renaissance, with the feature releasing in 1989.
Shortly after, in 1992, Disney released the television cartoon based on the movie, as they did with all of their features at the time. This is a rare cel and drawing - in that they have the main character listed above!
The cel has been placed on a color print background. Both the cel and the drawing have the Walt Disney seal and each measure approximately 9" x 10.5".
Both the drawing and the cel have adhesive and other blemished from the original mounting. These are hidden by our mats. In addition the cel HAS surface abrasion lines that can be seen in certain light. The drawing is warmly yellowed from age and has a dirt smudge in the upper left corner and a light 2 fold in the lower left corner. We only use archival/acid-free materials in mounting your artwork.
