This cel was used for sports introductions on ABC Network coverage of the event. Part of the intro before and after commerical breaks. Disney was the produced the animatian for ABC Sports. 2-cel set up with Sam and the matt being on seperate cels.
The hand painted cels are 10x12 inches in size. All hand painted with xeroxed ink line. Sam and the wrestling matt are 5x7 inches total. Piece is moutned over the cover of the evolope of the cel came in. That cover was printed with the Certification of the cel coming from the olympic broadcast.

He was the chairman of the Los Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee which brought the games to Los Angeles in 1984. Sam the Olympic Eagle was the mascot of the 1984 Summer Olympics which were held in Los Angeles. He is a bald eagle, the national bird of the host nation, the United States.The mascot was designed by Bob Moore , an artist working for The Walt Disney Company. The characters design is a take on Sam the Eagle from The America Sing's Attaction at Disneyland.
