DISNEY Original Production Cel from ROBIN HOOD, "Little John" in Disguise. This original cel is showing Little John, Robin Hood's most trusted friend, in a hilarious womanly disguise. He has gladly replaced a blonde costume wig with his green iconic hat as he runs stepping out of his girly bloomers.

This is a wonderful motion filled moment to be captured and is in good shape with a couple of issues: There are about 7 or 8 wrinkles in the white background which are frequently found in these Robin Hood cels due to the (then) new technique of lamination, which soon evidenced as a failure and a liability in the preservation of these pieces of film history. NOTE: You can view them clearly if you enlarge the picture a bit. Little John has some slight puffiness or waviness to his thick paint which actually makes him stand out even more as the central attraction. Also, there are some very faint sprinklings of what looks like little soft beige moisture dots across only the white mat surrounding the cel. To me, they actually appear to possibly be on the underside of the glass.

I have never noticed these in all the years they have hung in our grandchildren's room, but now I see them. Everything about the framing is top-notch because it was also done by the Disney Company. The lovely brass frame measures 20 1/2" by 16 1/2". The cel measures 10 1/2" by 14 1/2". The picture is double matted and the backing is very thick cardboard, reinforced at the corners.

The back has a declaration of authenticity by the Walt Disney Production Company and the artists production number is hand written above the document in red. The Disney stamp is on the lower right hand corner of the front of the Cel. This piece is a delightful, colorful, and happy reminder of why we all loved that movie.
