Dramatic cel and obg setup from Disney's Aladdin (1992) framed and ready to display. In this scene (seen at 1:17:51) we see Aladdin reaching for the Genie's Lamp (now controlled by Jaffar), while Jasmine distracts Jaffar with feigned affection. A shrunken Rajah sits sadly in a gilded cage behind Jasmine.
Then a gold cup of fruit falls to the ground, knocked over by Iago and Abu who were wrestling nearby, startling Jaffar. He turns around, but the quick-thinking Jasmine grabs Jaffar and kisses him, eliciting looks of disgust on everyone watching even Iago! This marks the start of the climax of the film, moments before Aladdin tricks Jaffar into wishing to become a genie, and entrapping himself for all eternity. The setup consists of a screen-used hand painted background, with matching cels created by Disney from the original production drawings (Aladdin was partially digitally animated, and no production cels exist). Aladdin is set for a May 2019 live-action release starring Wil Smith as Genie, and Alan Menken (who won an Academy award for A Whole New World) again providing the musical score. As we approach the release date, original artwork from the 1992 film is likely to disappear form the market. Setup is 17"x12.5" and framed to 24"x19".
