Production Cel Signed with Marc Davis Autograph (Walt Disney, 1951). That was a very sad story. This is an original hand-inked, hand-painted production cel setup of Alice having just heard the story of "The Walrus and the Carpenter" from Tweedledee and Tweedledum.
Alice is a stunning nearly full-figure image and is a large image on the cel at nearly 8 tall. Davis was the supervising animator for Alice in Wonderland.
Started in concept pre-WWII and finally made it to the big screen on July 28, 1951. That's a lot of lead time!
This is a wonderful moment captured from the film that shows Alice's kindness and compassion. The piece comes beautifully framed and double-matted. The frame measures 20" wide by 17" tall with a cel opening that measures 11" wide by 8" tall. Please note that there is some minor cel rippling.
The back of the frame has a sticker from the Animation Celection gallery. Please see the included screenshot from the film scene as well.
